Frequently Asked Questions

Does the grade of stainless steel affect the weight?

While 304 and 316 stainless steel have very similar densities, there are slight variations. Our steel angle weight calculator accounts for these specific alloy differences to provide the most accurate estimate for your order.

What is the difference between an Equal and Unequal angle?

An Equal Angle has two legs of the same length (e.g., 2” x 2”). An Unequal Angle (often called an “L-shape”) has legs of different lengths (e.g., 3” x 2”). Both are commonly used in structural bracing and framing.

How accurate is this weight calculator?

Our calculator provides theoretical weights based on standard industry densities. Actual weights may vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances and mill finish.
